Yikes The Zero – “The Animal Box”

Yikes the Zero is a multi-talented MC/Producer/Artist/Writer based out of Philadelphia, PA. He returns with his latest album, “The Animal Box” on Extra Lovely Records. Yikes not only wrote and produced the entire album, he also created the incredible artwork for the project. The “Animal Box” is an adventurous and unique experimental hip-hop album that pulls in sounds from a range of worldly genres. The album is textured with soundbites from old cartoons, comic book references and layers of ghostly samples. The only features on the album are from the track, “Gauntlet” and includes additional vocals from O-Severe, Lushlife, Stainless Steele, Distant Starr, Tajai (Souls of Mischief) & Pep Love (Hieroglyphics Crew). “The Animal Box” is out now and available digitally and on limited-edition cassette. The new album “Fog” by Garfunkle is out now on Extra Lovely Records! /// Available on limited edition cassette and digitally here.

Garfunkle aka Ben Gray is a scientist by day working in the field of bio-engineering. He obtained his PhD from Cornell University and is currently living in North Carolina. By night, Garfunkle’s focus and scientific approach turns towards his music. He continues to tinker in the laboratory but his instruments of experimentation are different. His latest project “Fog” was produced using only a keyboard, drum machine and delay pedal with no samples; recorded on analog 4-track. The sound is experimental, minimal jazz beats created during the time of his wife’s pregnancy and inspired by the birth of his first child.

Extra Lovely Records is very excited to announce the release of our new project EL006 Cropsy – “Love Weather Dinner Party”. An experimental, lo-fi, electronic scratch/turntablism project. The project is available digitally and on limited-edition, one of a kind color-splattered cassettes with light blue shells and also includes an illustrated insert with credits and tracklisting. Less than 20 tapes (from the original 50) are available online after most of them were sold during our release party on 6/26/16.
